Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I keep getting the same teams?
The algorithm builds optimal teams based on your Pokémon, so results can repeat. For more variety, select "Surprise me" when the builder asks "Which Pokémon to build around?". You can also use the Battle Log to record opponents you face and get countering teams, or enable "Advanced Builder Options" in Settings to unlock new features and building settings.
Can I build a team around a specific Pokémon?
Yes! Just select it when the builder asks "Which Pokémon to build around?". For even more control, enable "Advanced Builder Options" in Settings.
Can I change movesets?
Yes! Enable "Custom Movesets" in Settings under the Moves section. You can then add moveset variants to any owned Pokémon, and the entire app will account for your actual moves in team building, scoring, matchups, and gameplans.
Are legacy/Elite TM moves marked?
Yes! Legacy and Elite TM moves are now marked with "†" and "*" symbols. For more move details, enable "Move Counts" in Settings.
The search bar isn't working — what do I do?
This is a known iOS bug. Switching tabs, scrolling, or restarting the app usually fixes it.
What does the Battle Log do?
The app analyzes trends from your recorded battles and builds teams specifically designed to counter what you're actually facing on ladder.
